West View e-Letter

November 18, 2022

Greetings West View Family:
This Sunday is the last Sunday of the Christian calendar and it is known as Christ the King Sunday, a poignant reminder and invitation for followers of Christ about his Lordship in our lives. On the 27th November we begin our Advent journey, a season filled with Hope and promise as we prepare for the coming of our Saviour. As we begin to think about Christmas and dealing with the ‘final stretch’ of 2022, we have an exciting line-up of activities on offer, with something for everyone to enjoy and we would like you and your loved ones to participate as much as you can

Sunday the 27th November is set aside for the appreciation of those who have served the West View community by volunteering in 1 way or another through the various ministries of West View. If you volunteer in any of our Ministries, in whatever capacity, we are inviting you to join us on Sunday 27th November at the morning services where we would like to express our gratitude for your service to the Lord at West View. If you have not yet volunteered in any capacity we would also love you to be of the services on the 27th and challenge you to enquire to those already serving about opportunities to serve at West View.

We are all invited to the final Church Express for 2022 which takes place at 6pm on the 27th November 2022. We will be hosting a braai and joining in worship together. West View will provide the meat, and you are invited to bring a side or dessert dish to share. We look forward to fellowshipping with you all.

The West View Men@Work invites all men to the Year End Braai which will be on Thursday 8th December at 6pm at the Springvale Scout Hall. There will be wors rolls and cold drinks on sale, but you are welcome to bring your own drinks if preferred.
Please feel free to bring a friend or your (16y or older) son and join us for fellowship and a relaxing time around the fires. RSVP to

How do you see your world, your life, and yourself? How do you describe the life you’ve lived up to this point? What is your picture of your life right now and what dream do you cling to for your future? What is your vision of the world as it is and as you wish it could be? And where do all of these pictures originate?
Join us in our Advent series “Vision Quest” from the 27th November to New Year’s Day as we are invited to open our eyes, hearts, minds, and souls to a new vision of reality.

Please join us at 9am (there will only be one service on the day) for our annual Carol Service, which will be led by John van der Laar. Bring the whole family or invite a friend to come and enjoy this special moment together. We are hoping to have this service outdoor in the lawns (weather permitting) so please bring a camp chair and some snacks, there will also be pancakes and cold drink available for sale by the  Children’s church to raise funds for the Summer Holiday Club.

Children from age 4 to gr 7 are invited to our fun holiday programme while they learn more about Jesus. The cost is R50.00 per day, and it includes lunch. The programme is held at the West View campus from 07:30 to 13:00. Contact our Children’s Pastor at for more information.
