Dear West View family
Here’s wishing all fathers a great Father’s Day on Sunday. May you be spoilt and appreciated!
TITHE MONTH FEEDBACK: Thank you for rising to the challenge of sacrificial tithing during May’s Tithe Month. Your generosity has put us slightly (0.5%) ahead of budget for tithes and offerings in the year to date. As we all continue to give in response to God’s generous love towards us, we will resource His Kingdom work.
DITSHEGO OUTREACH NEXT SATURDAY 22nd JUNE: We will be joining forces with the Church of the Resurrection from the USA to bless the teachers and children at Ditshego. If you would like to assist with painting walls, maintenance or painting the teacher’s finger nails please join us on the day. No special skills necessary. Bring paint brush and contact Lara for more information at lara@westview.org.za.
HOLIDAY CLUB 25th – 28th JUNE: Fly away on a Fiery Dragon Adventure this June. Toothless and his band of dragon friends will be roosting at West View from 24 to 28 June. The fun day will be at Paratus Primary School, 1 Henry Williams Rd, Thaba Tshwane. Funds raised will further God’s work in our Circuit.
MEN’S CAMP: Men’s Camp will be held on 23rd – 25th August at Cyara Manna Campsite in the Hekpoort Valley. We’re looking forward to a great weekend of camaraderie and growth. Contact Kobus (kobus@filteg.com) or Adrian (ace@telkomsa.net) for more details.
FAREWELL LARA DICKSON: We’re thrilled to announce that, after serving an 18 month internship at West View, Lara has been appointed as the Youth Pastor at Lyttelton MethodistChurch. Lara has been a great blessing to us these past 18 months. We will miss her enthusiasm, her love for people, and her infectious laugh, not forgetting her rainbow coloured hair! Lara’s farewell and commissioning service is at 6pm on Sunday 23rd June. West View continues to be a church that trains up and sends young people into youth ministry. The youth pastors at Bryanston Methodist, Gracepoint, Rustenburg Methodist, Midstream Methodist, Pilenesberg Circuit, and now Lyttelton Methodist are all graduates of the 4G Youth Pastor Training Programme. Know that your support for 4G is impacting Youth Work far beyond Centurion.
FAREWELL NOTE FROM LARA: Hey West View family! It’s bittersweet that I’m here to tell you that from July I will be the Youth Pastor at Lyttleton Methodist Church. I truly have had a blast these past 18 months with all of you. Each one of you have caused my heart to grow bigger. Thank you for all the epic memories and support. Keeping oozing God’s love to everyone. 1 John 4:16: And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. I’m hoping to still join West View for the annual Holiday Clubs and Ditshego Outreach Missions. James and I are planning to hold joint youth events with West View Methodist Church and Lyttleton Methodist Church, hopefully termly. Feel free to keep in contact with me, I’m only a message away. Keep being your original selves and spread God’s love. Love Lara xx.
