Dear West View family
In the light of the increasing Covid-19 infection rates in Gauteng, the West View Executive has made the decision to suspend all in-person gatherings on our campus until further notice, effective Monday 21st June. We encourage small groups to meet online rather than in-person and we look forward to worshipping online with you on Sundays. Pastoral and office staff will be working from home, maintaining their normal office hours, and the church switchboard will continue to be open 8h00 – 15h30. We anticipate this arrangement lasting until late July. We encourage those who qualify for the vaccine to get it as soon as possible. Whilst the vaccine doesn’t guarantee that you won’t get Covid-19, it does mean that you won’t get it a severe version of it. Please remain vigilant during this time when infection rates in the community are high. As we enter a difficult season, we offer you the inspiring poetry of Isaac Watts’ much-loved hymn, either to read or to listen to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAdomWnR5yU :
O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home;
Under the shadow of your throne
your saints have dwelt secure.
Sufficient is your arm alone,
and our defense is sure.
We dwell under the shadow of God’s throne. God is our shelter from the ‘stormy blast’ and we place all our Hope in God’s grace and goodness
Grace and Peace
Ian and Siphiwe
