Dear West view Family |
COMMUNITY PENTECOST WORSHIP We celebrate Pentecost this Sunday with in-person Community Worship @ 10h00. Our children and youth will be participating in the service, which will appeal to all ages. WINTER CLOSURE OF 8h00 IN-PERSON WORSHIP This Sunday will be our final 8h00 service until Spring. The cold weather combined with concerns about the third Covid wave makes this the wisest decision. We invite those who normally attend at 8h00 to join the 10h00 in-person service or the 8h30 online service. NEW SOCIETY STEWARDS We welcome Hyram Links, Nambita Mekane and Lorna Du Plessis onto our Exec as Society Stewards. They will have oversight of West View College, Spiritual Formation and Pastoral Care respectively. Please join me in praying for them and for all our Society Stewards as they serve God as lay leaders at West View. CONDOLENCES We extend our condolences to Louise Donkin and Ian, Carol & Jessica Mackey on the passing of Tim. May God’s comfort and strength enfold you. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE CHURCH ONLINE? Because last Sunday’s in-person message differed from the online message, I encourage those who worshipped in-person to also listen to my online message. It’s an important one because I explore what it means to us at West View to be a hybrid congregation. You can listen to the message here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KY2qaBGh-4 PREPARING FOR PENTECOST If you have a moment in the few days between now and Pentecost, I encourage you to listen to this interview with retired Methodist Bishop Rev. George Irvine. In it, George shares how the work of the Holy Spirit transformed his own life and ministry. The interview will help you to think about the work of the Holy Spirit in your own life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvlWj1GyI_g LIMPOPO SYNOD GATHERING Please remember Bishop Sidwell and the entire Limpopo Synod in prayer as we meet for a virtual Synod next week. May the Holy Spirit guide, empower and unite us in God’s work! |
Grace and Peace
