Dear West View Family

KHULUMA CELEBRATED IN CENTURION REKORD It was fantastic to see Khuluma reported on in this week’s Centurion Rekord. Click here https://rekordeast.co.za/347494/local-trauma-centre-working-alongside-police/ to read about the great work that Khuluma is doing in the community. Praise God for the Spirit’s work of justice and healing.

ON-LINE COMMUNITY WORSHIP
Set aside Sunday 6th September 8h30am for our online Community Worship Service. There will be no Greenhouse or Treehouse Videos. Instead, we invite children and teens to participate in the interactive service. Don’t miss out on this interactive service as we celebrate the arrival of Spring in a fresh way.
SPRING TABLE OF GRACE
Join us, during the first week of September, at one of our on-site Holy Communion services. Our hope is to have every one of the 450 people who worshipped onsite prior to lockdown and who feel safe doing so, present at one of the Communion Services. Each service will have its own flavour. Some will be more intentionally child-friendly than others. The dates and times are as follows. Additional services will be added as these services fill up.

Thorough plans are in place to ensure your safety. Attendance at each service is limited to 50 people and those attending will be screened. Our 400-seater sanctuary will have 50 chairs placed 1.5 metres apart.

There will be music but no congregational singing, the sanctuary and toilets will be thoroughly sanitised daily and well-ventilated, and you will be able to share in Holy Communion in a safe way. Those who prefer to, can share in the service by remaining in their cars. A speaker will broadcast the service into the parking area and communion will be served on trays at your car window. Here are the guidelines we ask you to follow to ensure each other’s safety: RSVP to lael@westview.org.za by 31st August (book early to avoid disappointment) indicating which service you will attend, how many people, in car or in sanctuary. If your chosen service is already full, we will share details of additional services and you can rebook. Wear a mask covering your nose and mouth Sanitise your hands and sign the attendance register and wellness declaration at the church entrance Greet one another with a warm smile, but no physical contact Enjoy catching up with each other outside or inside the sanctuary, standing at least 1.5 metres apart. Please avoid congregating in the church foyer. Come with hearts open to God and to each other, and celebrate the gift of being together and the gift of God’s grace shown on Calvary We encourage families, small groups and friends to make plans to worship in the same service. Siphiwe and I look forward to celebrating our unity and God’s love, as we gather around the table of grace.

Our new preaching series based on Trevor Hudson’s book “Seeking Serenity” begins on 13th September. Trevor will be a guest preacher at one of our services. We have been able to source Trevor’s book at a hefty 40% discount. The book Prayer for Serenity (R80) will be on sale at the Spring Communion Services. If possible, pay by eft (reference: ‘NAME, SERENITY’ and bring along your Proof of Payment to the service) or pay by SnapScan on the day. You can also pay by cash. Books will also be available at Reception (Monday – Friday; 9h00 – 12h00). Seeking Serenity is available on Kindle for about R100. The Kindle App can be downloaded to your phone for free. Our devotional team will also produce daily devotions on the West View WhatsApp Channel. If you care about friends or family struggling with anxiety or uncertainty during this time of upheaval, please invite them to share in this series with us. You can forward the daily devotions and the links to our worship services on to them.
