e-Letter

August 13, 2020
Dear West View Family

What a blessing Sunday’s online W.A. service was! We celebrate the Kingdom witness of our Morning and Evening W.A.’s. Later this Women’s month, we’ll be blessed to have Rev Kim Alexander from Horison Methodist Church preaching in our online worship service. Remember that if you have data limitations, our Sunday worship services are available as audio files on our website.
The latest data suggests that the first peak in Gauteng’s coronavirus curve is now behind us. Let’s pause to give thanks that all our efforts to flatten the curve paid off. Even as we give thanks, we acknowledge that this virus will probably be our unwelcome companion for the next few years, and that the ways we express Christian community will need to adapt to this reality.

SPRING TABLE OF GRACE
We’re thrilled to announce that during the first week of Spring, we’ll be holding multiple Holy Communion services in the sanctuary. 50 chairs will be arranged 1.5metres apart in a large circle around the communion table. Worship music videos will replace congregational singing. The services will be prayerful and worshipful, whilst maintaining all regulations relating to sanitising, screening and physical distancing. The sanctuary will be sanitised between each service, and you are asked to book your space in advance to avoid disappointment. I will share more details of dates, times, and registration procedures in coming days.

CONDOLENCES
We extend our condolences to:
The Laing family (Rob, Trish and Chris) on the passing of Gisela.
The Zaal Family on the passing of Jean. Jean’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday 14th August at 14h00. 30 places have been reserved for West View members. Please RSVP to lael@westview.org.za to reserve your space. The service will also be streamed on the West View Methodist YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/FTMDUQoCfTc
The Nortier family on the passing of Margaret.

FINANCES
Tithes and Offerings for July were R447 170, just R2 830 short of budget. I am humbled by your faithful and sacrificial giving towards God’s work at West View. Thank you!
