Love is not Easily Angered
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ
Welcome to worship! We extend a special welcome to the family and friends of those being baptised during worship today.
During today’s baptism services, I will ask you three questions:
Will you love and prayerfully accept these parents and their children in our congregation?
Will you support them and encourage them in the task of Christian parenthood?
Will you help maintain this Church and its ministries in such a way that all children among us may come to discover for themselves who Jesus is, and how they can live for him and serve him best?
I invite you to take a moment to think about what honouring these promises looks like in reality. How would you measure whether you’re living up to these promises or failing at them? What practical actions and attitudes can you live out, that will be a fulfillment of these promises? How committed are you to playing your part in ensuring that West View leads families and children in the Christ-following way? The Christian faith is always just one generation away from extinction.
Let us – with God’s help and grace – recommit ourselves to embodying the Christ-following life to the children in our community.
Grace and Peace
