Dear West View family

Next week is the most important week in the Christian year. Over and over again, my experience has been that my full involvement in the worship services of Holy Week and Easter have restored my faith, revived my hope, and renewed my love for God and people. I encourage you to grasp with both hands the opportunities for life change that these services present to you.

Monday 10th April, 19h00:

Prayer and Healing Service. At this service, various stations for prayer, meditation and reflection will be offered. One of the stations will be a station where the prayer ministry team will be available for prayer and anointing. Children’s Ministry: Godly Play Room

Tuesday 11th April, 19h00:

Worship Service. This service will be a worship extravaganza. Come and lose yourself in adoration and worship of Jesus Christ.

Wednesday 12th April, 19h00:

Seder Passover with Jews for Jesus. Tickets for this evening are sold out. Children’s Ministry: Godly Play Room

Thursday 13th April, 19h00:

Tenebrae (Shadows) Service: As we read gospel writer Mark’s account of Jesus betrayal and death, candles are extinguished until we sit in darkness and contemplate the darkness that came over Jesus in his final hours. A classical ensemble will lead worship. Children’s Ministry: Godly Play Room

Friday 14th April,

9h00: Good Friday Worship. The offering at this service goes towards the training of ministers. Please invest generously in the future of our church through this offering. Activity packs will be provided for children

17h00: Memorial Service. Bring white flowers and a photo of loved ones you have lost for this service of hope.

Sunday 16th April,

6h00: Sunrise service at Mnandi Methodist Church, Short St, Mnandi

7h45, 9h45 & 18h00: Easter Celebration with Communion. Children’s Ministry in Luke Hall at 7h45 & 9h45

POST EASTER PREACHING SERIES:

For the 10 weeks following Easter, we’re taking a new look at the old rules. What is the relevance of the ten commandments in a world that seems to be in chaos and disarray? Jesus said some radical things about the ten commandments. How can Jesus’ approach to them inform the role that we give these ancient rules in our own lives? Booklets containing Daily Reflections and Group Studies for each week’s commandment will be on sale during the services of Holy Week.

NATIONAL PRAYER SERVICE at West View on Saturday 22nd April

As part of the National Day of Prayer organised by Angus Buchan on Saturday 22nd April, we’re holding a prayer service at 2pm at West View to correspond with the Bloemfontein event. Come and unite with Christians around South Africa in praying for our nation.
